So i discovered Leasetrader.com today and was perusing it for shits and giggles, when i came across this gem.

Apparently, you can take over this guys lease for the final 8 months at a cost of $1,495/month. How could this be so high? 36 payments would equal almost $54k and assuming he put $6-7k down, means he basically paid it off. Its only a $65k car after all.

Looking at the MB website, you can lease a 2018 with the same terms for $7,370 down and payments of $1,185.

He had to have rolled something over into this, right?

Side note: the 2015s are retailing for about $55k used, so you could buy one outright for a payment 50% lower.

Bad credit and an upside down loan on a previous trade in, so like no down payment.

And apparently the current lessee drove it a grand total of 7, 000 miles for that 150 0/ month for the last few years.

Talk about pissing away money...

Can you roll an upside loan over into a lease? I really have no idea.

Also, would they lease the car if you can’t put anything down? I know you can get a zero down loan, but I can you do the same for a lease?

Do you know what the buyout value is at the end (residual)?

I might be using the wrong term, but with this lease arrangement, I’d expect to see a really cheap payoff at the end so you could buy the car for a great price.

I doubt you can roll an upside down loan into a lease, un less there is some serious fuckery going on. I bet you could do zero down or just fees and title, you end up paying for it over the term of the lease.

No idea. I didn’t see a residual value when i ran the number for a 2018 either.

It’s a C63 S with some options, so it was more like a $70- 75k car new, but that’s still a pretty bad lease.
